See for yourself why the new palette of Distress will have you distressing a little different. You will learn numerous techniques including wrinkle-free distressing, color layering, direct to paper, blending and shading, and incorporating stamped imagery. Get hands-on experience with Distress Inks, Powders, Crackle Paint, and Distress Stickles as we showcase their unique abilities and put it all together creating several artful and distressed tags. It is textured on one side and smooth on the other side. This faux glass art material is actually plastic and can be cut easily with a pair of scissors! It is fun and easy to work with! And, best of all the results are stunning! Sandi will share her secrets for creating awesome dichroic glass effects that are perfect for jewelry making and for greeting card accents. All supplies including jewelry findings will be provided. Students will receive a class pack of supplies to use during the class and may take the leftovers home to create additional pieces. *SPECIAL NOTE: Students may need to pick up their art pieces later in the day. Instructor: Kelley Grace You just couldn’t resist those colorful Copic markers eh? No wonder since the alcohol based, dye markers are known for their low odour and smooth vibrant colours. Kelley has had over 20 years experience coloring with alcohol based markers and a few tricks up her sleeve to help you achieve great results. Knowing which papers and what colors to use are all part of the confident coloring process. This information accompanying a step by step coloring guide will have you wielding your Copics like a pro as you practice with “Natural Blending Families” and finish a couple cards. Supplies to bring to class: your own scissors, adhesives & markers to class, although you don’t have to have the numbers listed below you will need 3 different shades in a color family for example V15, V17 & V09.These are the colors used on the samples. V15, V17, V09, B63, Y38, YR04, YG03, YG67, R32, R35, R59 & Colorless blender. Kelley will supply all other materials for this class. In this fun-filled class, you'll learn how to work with three innovative mediums from Ranger Industries: Adirondack Alcohol Inks by Tim Holtz, Perfect Pearls, and Distress Pads by Tim Holtz. We'll explore several techniques, including Wrinkle Free Distress, Alcohol Ink Agates, Spritz & Flick, and Ink Monoprint... plus lots more. If you’ve taken this class before, you can still sign up again since we’ll be mixing things up and adding all kinds of new twists! You’ll learn Wendy Vecchi’s secrets for creating three-dimensional grungeboard flowers with her Studio 490 stamps and using pigment & resist pads to achieve fantastic coloring effects. You will make 4-5 cards or more as time allows, using some of Beverly’s favorite sprays, acrylic paints, and watercolors, using stencils and stamps (Magent and Fred Mullett.) Surely not so quick, but easy to remember for you to mass produce on your own. It will be sooo much fun! Rubber Nature Texture Mats will be used to incise designs in the clay. Sandi's easy release Rubber Nature Clay Molds will be used to mold designs in the clay. Coloring techniques will be discussed and explored. PLEASE SEE Mr. O's and Sandi’s REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLES. All art supplies will be provided. Students please bring: An art knife or a clay blade. You’ll learn cool ways to use the pearlescent Smooch inks and the “Smoosh” stamping technique as you create several cards and many backgrounds. If so, this class is for you! Learn to easily construct beautiful board books using a variety of techniques and materials. Then, expand these techniques to create ATC displays and simple shrines. You’ll go home with several assembled books/shrines all ready for your final personal items. This class is geared toward assemblage, not necessarily to create a finished object, but you may want to bring along some special stamps, collage ephemera, figures, and any other persona items. (Nope, we’re not talking about exercise…except maybe giving your creativity a little workout!) In this fun class, you’ll learn how to make four different interactive cards featuring Inky Antics stamps: an impressive Magic Color Change Card (watch the image transform from black and white to full color right before your eyes), an action-filled Penny Spinner Card (with a tumbling “action figure”), a unique Ribbon Slider Card (with vertical movement), and an easy Shaker Card (super simple with a few basic supplies). We think handstamped cards are great, but stamped cards that DO things are even better. Your class materials will include full-color instructions so you can make these fantastic creations again on your own…we know you’ll want to! Learn to expertly blend and add shadow & highlights to give your watercolour painted images depth and interest. You’ll create a total of six different items in this jam-packed class: a simple yet elegant Clear Card (and coordinating mylar envelope), a quick Shaker Card (which is especially easy when made with a self-stick shaker pouch), an attractive Wedge Capped Acetate Box and a Capped Acetate Box (both of which are great for all kinds of treats), a pretty Pillow Box (perfect for holding gift cards or other goodies), and a Mini Candy Box (filled with chocolate, of course!). Discover handy tips and techniques along the way as we learn how to use our heavyweight Clear Cardstock, StazOn Opaque Inks, and Inky’s polymer stamps. Work with our newest Rubber Nature ArtStamp designs. Select from a wide variety of figurative designs as well as dramatic abstract designs. At Rubber Stamp Studio these are a customer favorite. We create gorgeous multi-layer cards with the aid of dimensional foam dots and precut designs. We’ll incorporate cuttlebug and sizzix embossing folder designs to add even more texture and dimension. This is a class you won’t want to miss! We will be making 8 cards in this class. You’ll go home with additional 3D designs to create at home. Supplies to bring to class: Scissors, bone folder & double stick adhesive.
